Catching up...

Ok...I've been a little slack on the blog updates lately. It's been a little hectic around here with the end of school holidays and then school/kindy starting this past week!

I've got a few projects to share. :) I'll try to be brief but there'll be a few pics!

First up are these cards that I created as samples for my Scrapz Biggest Loser challenges.

This one was to use at least 3 buttons on a card...

Then I challenged everyone to make a card with a stamp from their stash that they've never used. (I know we've all got at least one of those! LOL)

I used the Basic Grey "What a Pear" stamp set and came up with this set of cards...

The comp was a lot of fun again this year...and my scraproom is all sorted again! :)

Now for a couple of layouts. This one was my final sample from the Scrapz January Ticklez kit...

My last share is a layout for our new comp that started today at Scrapz.Biz.
I hope you'll pop on over and join in the fun! Go HERE to read all about it and to see all the challenges for this week. :) My first elective is 'Behavioural Sciences' and you can find the details of my challenge HERE. ;)

Here's my sample page...

This is one page I know I'll enjoy looking back on in the years to come. It'll be interesting to see how the kids change (or stay the same) as they grow older. :)

Well...I think that's about all I've got for the moment. Thanks for dropping by!! :)

Back to school...and kindy!

It's been a big week! The boys went back to school on Monday. Thankfully they're both happy with their new teachers and classmates. :) They've both had a fantastic start to their school year!

Then on Thursday Madi started kindy (Preprep) for the very first time.

She was SO happy to finally be going to kindy. She was all smiles as I left her that morning...what a relief! When I picked her up she'd had a wonderful day and apparently "loves her kindy!".

I think we're in for a great year...fingers crossed! ;)

This page I've created for Mission 4 of the Scrapz Biggest Loser Comp. (You can find a step by step tutorial for this layout HERE.)

I used the gorgeous October Afternoon Homemaker papers....love them!

Hope you're having a great week!

"How you can help...

Many of these Scrappers have nothing left, so we are asking for anything and everything from your stash. From tools, papers, embellishments, ribbons, etc. Whatever you can spare, be it big or small.

You can then send it to me. Please email me at
michellejamieson@optusnet.com.au for my address.

If you know of a Queensland Scrapper that has lost her supplies, you can also email me on the above address and we'll organise something for her!

We'd love to be able to help out as many Scrappers affected by the Floods as we can!"

Thanks so much for organising this Chelle! I'll be sending off my package to you soon!

A very special workshop

We've all been watching the devastation of the Queensland floods on tv all week. It was great to see the cleanup finally starting today and so heartwarming to see how the communities are coming together to help each other through this crisis. The amount of loss is just incredible and it's going to be a massive job to clean up the enormous mess...and for people to rebuild their lives, homes and businesses.

To help raise much need funds for those in need, Kim has launched a special workshop over at the @Home site. Here's all the info directly from Kim's blog...

"Like most Australians, I have been watching in shock and great sadness as the Queensland flooding disaster has unfolded over the past few weeks. So much devastation and destruction and loss - it's just heartbreaking and difficult to comprehend the enormity of what has been happening just over the border there in Queensland.

I decided that I wanted to help - somehow, in some way.. and so I have created this online workshop
"Smile" with ALL proceeds from this class to be donated to the Premier's Flood Relief Appeal. Simply book into the workshop between 14-24 January 2011 and all monies raised will be donated to the Appeal.

The workshop itself is a step by step layered, stitched, painted and arty type single scrapbooking layout project using a single 4x6inch photo that makes you smile. This is an INSTANT class which means all information you need to complete the project is ready to go at your fingertips.

Help us spread the word and we hope you will join us in the classroom at the
very special discount price of only $5.00 registration.
"

Hope to see you there!

Back to playing with paper...

Since finishing my fabric buckets I've dived right back into scrapping. It had been AGES since I'd scrapped a page...weeks! So it was fun to start playing with paper again. I think I've done 5 pages over the past week...that's a LOT for me! LOL

The first one was a page just for fun before I began my DT scrapping commitments for the year. I love this everyday pic of us just going for a walk together one weekend. It's one of our favourite things to do...

I've used some Studio Calico paper and stickers, Basic Grey and American Crafts alphas, Websters and Maya Road trims, Basic Grey fabric flowers and brad...

I used my old typewriter to add some journalling to the Pink Paislee ticket. :)

The other pages I've done are samples for this month's Scrapz Ticklez Kit. I'll share some of those soon. :)

Hope you're enjoying the holidays!

A little sewing to start the year...

Hello 2011!!! I know it's 4 days later...but I've been busy stitching. ;)

When my beautiful friend Janelle's fabulous book "Pieces of Me" came out last year as soon as I saw the fabric buckets on the cover I knew I had to make them!! I've had the fabric all cut out and ready to go for a couple of months now but it kept getting put on the backburner with all the end of year scrapping commitments, festivities and things. So...new year's day I finally sat down and started stitching. I haven't done applique before but it all came together so easily...and I'm thrilled with how they turned out!

Thanks so much Janelle for making your patterns so easy to follow! :))

How cute are those houses and trees!! My buckets are now looking so lovely on the shelves in my scraproom. They make me happy! :D

If you haven't seen Janelle's book before you really need to check it out HERE. You'll LOVE it!!

Now that I've got the sewing bug I'm trying to decide on what to make next! :)
