Scrapz.Giving Week

We're celebrating with Scrapz.Giving week over at Scrap.Biz. (Go HERE to see all the challenges if you'd like to join in the fun!)
The challenge I set for this week is to create a thankyou card and/or gift bag with a folded flower like the ones on my samples here...

I've written an easy tutorial on how I made mine which you'll find HERE. :)
(I've already given this gift bag and card away to a beautiful friend of mine. :) )
I've got one more thing to share...my sample for last week's Scrap It Blind challenge.
I love this photo of Madi with her Great Nanna! We don't get to see her often enough since we live in different states.

Great Nan has done a lot of beautiful embroidery over the years so I've added a lot of handstitching and french knots on the page.

That's about it for now. I'm still busily trying to get organised for Christmas...like all of you I'm sure! LOL Getting there...slowly but surely! :)

Thanks so much for popping in!

Happy mail...

This month I've got a set of cards in Cardmaking, Stamping and Papercraft (Vol 16 No 9) for the very first time. My copy arrived in my letterbox this week...and imagine my excitement when I saw that one of my cards is on the COVER!!!!!!!! How cool is that!? :D
Here's my set of cards as they appear inside the mag. I love how they photographed them...so pretty! The top two cards have tulle layered into the design which is a bit hard to see so I thought I'd post some closeup pics here.

Just in case anyone was wondering, the stamp I've used on each card is the Hero Arts Starburst Lace stamp...love it!

On another note...have you booked into Kim's Handmade Christmas Class yet?

Let me tell you...it's HUGE and packed full of projects...and it offically kicks off tomorrow morning and runs online for 10 days!!! Go HERE to book now. It's going to be SO much fun...hope to see you there!!

A little bit of Christmas...

Can you believe it's only around 6 weeks until Christmas? I'm nowhere near being organised yet...eeek! How are you going with everything?

I thought I'd share a couple of Christmas projects I've made for Scrapz Biz in the last few weeks. First a couple of cards...

This one was for a challenge using accordion flowers.

Then I made this card for my card sketch challenge sample using My Mind's Eye 'I Believe' goodies...

And finally a layout. This one was another sketch challenge. The photos are from Christmas last year and it's fun to see how much the kids have grown and changed since then!

I've used the gorgeous Girls' Paperie Tinsel & Twig papers and chipboard alphas, thickers and Making Memories die cuts.
I needed a big red poinsetta flower up in the corner so I hand cut this one from felt.

I really need to start on making my Christmas cards ready to send out once December comes around. I'm hoping I don't run out of time! Are you making cards this year or going with pre-made ones? I think I'll end up doing a bit of both...we'll see. ;)

Anyway...thanks so much for dropping by! Have a great week. :)

Ayden's 8!

Hi...I'm still here! Whoops...didn't realise it had been THAT long between posts! We've been kinda busy over the past couple of weeks with this and that...

We've just had a big birthday weekend here! My Mum, Dad and Ayden all have birthdays within 3 days of each other. We spent Saturday at Mum & Dad's place for Mum's birthday...so nice to have all the family together...Mum loved it. :) Then we were supposed to go to Seaworld on Sunday together to celebrate Ayden's birthday...but early that morning he woke up with a terrible earache...and so he spent his entire birthday feeling miserable on the couch...

Poor little man! Turns out he's got double ear infections...what a way to spend your birthday huh? He did manage a smile when his ice cream cake came out...that was a big hit!

So hopefully we'll be off to Seaworld next weekend. The kids have never been there...they're going to love it! Ayden's feeling a bit better today thank goodness. I'm sure he'll be as good as new by the weekend!

I've been busy with lots of scrapping projects on the go lately. I'm really excited about Kim's Handmade Christmas 2010 class...and you should see all the gorgeous projects the girls have been creating in preparation for it! Kim's Christmas classes are always my absolute FAVE @Home class every year and I'm over the moon to be creating my own projects to be included in this 10 day class! You can read all about it HERE on her blog. It's going to be HUGE!

Over at Scrapz this week Heike organised a Melbourne Cup Flutter challenge...so much fun! It's the only challenge of the year that the DT are allowed to enter as well...yay! We had to use the selected Pencil Lines sketch, a photo of someone 'dressed to kill', something that flutters and something from our wardrobe. Here's my page...

LOVE this cute pic of Madi striking a pose in her fave dress! I used some Pink Paislee Sweetness papers, my new Martha edge punch combo and Sizzix Butterfly die (thanks Mel! xx).

The flowers are Prima with a rolled fabric paper flower in the centre. My 'something from my wardrobe' is the Target tag and tiny safety pin from recent clothes purchases. I cut the butterflies from vellum. :)

The alphas are Basic Grey and American Crafts Dear Lizzy. :)

So did anyone back a winner today? I didn't place any bets...didn't even see the race on tv! LOL I think I was buying groceries at the time with Madi.

Well...time for a cuppa. Be back soon! I won't leave it so long between posts next time. ;)
