Christmas roundup...and Goodbye 2010!

We're back after a great trip away to spend Christmas with Paul's family in Victoria. It was the first time in YEARS that the whole family has spent Christmas together! It really was worth the long drive there and back. We all had such a lovely time...and Santa even came to visit us on Christmas morning before he headed back to the North Pole! Very special! :) I've been really slack and haven't download any of our photos yet off the camera so none to share at the moment...sorry. :)

Anyway...before the year closes I thought I'd do a quick share of a couple of my Christmas projects (since everyone should've received theirs now...I hope!).

First up...these were the cards I made for scrapping friends this year.

I used some new Papertrey stamps and dies for these. I went with the kraft/red/white colour combo...a fave of mine. :) (Sorry the colours are a bit off in these pics...hmmmm...)

The kids and I had a lot of fun making paper snowflakes this year too.

I decided to use them for some of my gift wrapping for teachers and scrapping friends. :)

I love how they turned out!

I also sewed some little gifts for the @Home ST girls. It's been so much fun working with Kim and the girls this year! These are little mini notebook covers...handy to pop in your handbag I thought. :)

I ended up making myself one at the same time...and an extra. ;)

So that's about it. I wanted to get so much more done much just ran out of time with us going away and all the other Christmassy things going on. I'm determined to be much more organised next year.

Hope you have a fantastic New Year's Eve planned! I've got Mum and Dad here for the night to celebrate (Paul's working nightshift). We're just having a quiet night at home...probably watching the fireworks on tv to see in the new year. :)

Before I go I just wanted to thank all of you who've taken the time to visit my blog and leave me such lovely comments this year. I really do appreciate each and every one of you! I really do love hearing from you! Happy New Year and I hope 2011 is a wonderful one for you and your families!

I'm still here!

Whoops! I had no idea it'd been this long between posts! It's been busy, busy, busy here for the last few weeks with end of school events and loads of Christmas preparations. I'm sure you're finding it just as hectic as I am right now. :)
Anyway, I thought I'd better do a quick update and share my last couple of Scrapz Christmas projects for the year. Better late than never right?

First up here's a layout of my 3 using some Echo Park goodies and my new fave Martha edge punch...

I love this pic of the kids in their Santa hats! A couple of closeups...

My last Scrapz project for the year were these super easy hanging gift card holders. (I've done a little tutorial on these which you can find HERE. I think you'll need to be logged in the see the images.)

These are so quick to whip up for those last minute gift cards. :)

Are you doing a December Daily album this year? I made my first one last year and loved it so I'll be putting another one together this year...but I think I'll be scrapping it after Christmas with everything going on. I'm still taking photos and making notes each day though.

So that's about it for now! I hope you're feeling organised in the lead up to Christmas Day...only 8 sleeps to go!!

See you again soon!

Scrapz.Giving Week

We're celebrating with Scrapz.Giving week over at Scrap.Biz. (Go HERE to see all the challenges if you'd like to join in the fun!)
The challenge I set for this week is to create a thankyou card and/or gift bag with a folded flower like the ones on my samples here...

I've written an easy tutorial on how I made mine which you'll find HERE. :)
(I've already given this gift bag and card away to a beautiful friend of mine. :) )
I've got one more thing to share...my sample for last week's Scrap It Blind challenge.
I love this photo of Madi with her Great Nanna! We don't get to see her often enough since we live in different states.

Great Nan has done a lot of beautiful embroidery over the years so I've added a lot of handstitching and french knots on the page.

That's about it for now. I'm still busily trying to get organised for Christmas...like all of you I'm sure! LOL Getting there...slowly but surely! :)

Thanks so much for popping in!

Happy mail...

This month I've got a set of cards in Cardmaking, Stamping and Papercraft (Vol 16 No 9) for the very first time. My copy arrived in my letterbox this week...and imagine my excitement when I saw that one of my cards is on the COVER!!!!!!!! How cool is that!? :D
Here's my set of cards as they appear inside the mag. I love how they photographed them...so pretty! The top two cards have tulle layered into the design which is a bit hard to see so I thought I'd post some closeup pics here.

Just in case anyone was wondering, the stamp I've used on each card is the Hero Arts Starburst Lace stamp...love it!

On another note...have you booked into Kim's Handmade Christmas Class yet?

Let me tell you...it's HUGE and packed full of projects...and it offically kicks off tomorrow morning and runs online for 10 days!!! Go HERE to book now. It's going to be SO much fun...hope to see you there!!

A little bit of Christmas...

Can you believe it's only around 6 weeks until Christmas? I'm nowhere near being organised yet...eeek! How are you going with everything?

I thought I'd share a couple of Christmas projects I've made for Scrapz Biz in the last few weeks. First a couple of cards...

This one was for a challenge using accordion flowers.

Then I made this card for my card sketch challenge sample using My Mind's Eye 'I Believe' goodies...

And finally a layout. This one was another sketch challenge. The photos are from Christmas last year and it's fun to see how much the kids have grown and changed since then!

I've used the gorgeous Girls' Paperie Tinsel & Twig papers and chipboard alphas, thickers and Making Memories die cuts.
I needed a big red poinsetta flower up in the corner so I hand cut this one from felt.

I really need to start on making my Christmas cards ready to send out once December comes around. I'm hoping I don't run out of time! Are you making cards this year or going with pre-made ones? I think I'll end up doing a bit of both...we'll see. ;)

Anyway...thanks so much for dropping by! Have a great week. :)

Ayden's 8!

Hi...I'm still here! Whoops...didn't realise it had been THAT long between posts! We've been kinda busy over the past couple of weeks with this and that...

We've just had a big birthday weekend here! My Mum, Dad and Ayden all have birthdays within 3 days of each other. We spent Saturday at Mum & Dad's place for Mum's birthday...so nice to have all the family together...Mum loved it. :) Then we were supposed to go to Seaworld on Sunday together to celebrate Ayden's birthday...but early that morning he woke up with a terrible earache...and so he spent his entire birthday feeling miserable on the couch...

Poor little man! Turns out he's got double ear infections...what a way to spend your birthday huh? He did manage a smile when his ice cream cake came out...that was a big hit!

So hopefully we'll be off to Seaworld next weekend. The kids have never been there...they're going to love it! Ayden's feeling a bit better today thank goodness. I'm sure he'll be as good as new by the weekend!

I've been busy with lots of scrapping projects on the go lately. I'm really excited about Kim's Handmade Christmas 2010 class...and you should see all the gorgeous projects the girls have been creating in preparation for it! Kim's Christmas classes are always my absolute FAVE @Home class every year and I'm over the moon to be creating my own projects to be included in this 10 day class! You can read all about it HERE on her blog. It's going to be HUGE!

Over at Scrapz this week Heike organised a Melbourne Cup Flutter challenge...so much fun! It's the only challenge of the year that the DT are allowed to enter as well...yay! We had to use the selected Pencil Lines sketch, a photo of someone 'dressed to kill', something that flutters and something from our wardrobe. Here's my page...

LOVE this cute pic of Madi striking a pose in her fave dress! I used some Pink Paislee Sweetness papers, my new Martha edge punch combo and Sizzix Butterfly die (thanks Mel! xx).

The flowers are Prima with a rolled fabric paper flower in the centre. My 'something from my wardrobe' is the Target tag and tiny safety pin from recent clothes purchases. I cut the butterflies from vellum. :)

The alphas are Basic Grey and American Crafts Dear Lizzy. :)

So did anyone back a winner today? I didn't place any bets...didn't even see the race on tv! LOL I think I was buying groceries at the time with Madi.

Well...time for a cuppa. Be back soon! I won't leave it so long between posts next time. ;)

Meet Mae...

Last weekend I came across a pattern I'd downloaded about a year ago from Bit Of Whimsy Dolls. (They really are the sweetest patterns on that site!) I had intended on making one for Madi way back then but obviously I got caught up doing other things. Anyway...I decided to dig out some scraps of fabric and felt and finally make Madi a Mae Doll. Here she is!

Isn't she the sweetest? Madi absolutely adores her. :D She was pretty easy to make too! Madi chose the hair and eye colour...and the fabric for her body and skirt. I made a couple of extra skirts as well since Madi's right into changing her doll's clothes at the moment. It was fun to do a little sewing again. :)

Now for a little scrapping share. This week's challenges went up on Thursday over at Scrapz and this was my sample for the colour combo challenge...(Details can be found HERE in the forum.)

A closeup...

I don't often use orange for my backgrounds but I kinda like how this turned out. :)

Well...I think that's about all I've got to share at the moment. I'm trying to get into Christmas mode and start on my cards and think about gifts. Have you started yet? I'm really trying to be organised this year...:P

See you again soon!

Up, Up & Away!

We've had so many fantastic entries fill the gallery over at Scrapz.Biz for our World Card Making Day challenges...so fun! I thought I'd share my second challenge sample that went up last week....a window card. :)

The cute little birdies and scallop circle frame are from the Cosmo Cricket Togetherness range. (You'll find a little tutorial on how I created this card in the forum HERE.)

During the week I also managed to put this page together just for fun. :) These photos are from Ayden's very first helicopter flight with Daddy...almost exactly a year ago! So glad I finally got them down on paper...

I've used up some old scraps and stash on this one... gotta love that!

Sorry...just a quick post tonight. I've gotta run because Survivor's about to start! :) Hope everything's great where you are. Thanks so much for dropping by!
