World Card Making Day

It's World Card Making Day on Saturday October 3rd. World Card Making Day is a special day especially for card makers around the world, to celebrate the creativity of handmade cards and the personal connection that they create, between friends and family. It is a day to connect with fellow card makers both near and far, to applaud the creativity that powers the craft, and to provide an opportunity for card makers to connect and find resources that will empower, inspire, and encourage them in their card making.

We would like to invite you to celebrate World Cardmaking Day with us at SCRAPZ.BIZ! Challenges will be posted in the forum starting on Friday 2nd October and will continue over the weekend. All entries are to be uploaded in the WCMD Members Gallery by Wednesday October 7th Midnight. Each entry will earn you a ticket in the random draw, to win one of three prizes. Come and join in the fun!!!

To help you celebrate World Card Making Day, Scrapz Biz are taking 20% off our entire range of stamps starting this Thursday. (Discounts will be adjusted manually.)
I'd love to see you there!

Dinosaurs and a new sketch challenge...

Well time has really got away from me over this past week of so. The kids are now halfway through their holidays already! Unfortunately we haven't been able to get out and do much so far as all three of them have been sick! One by one they fell ill with high temps. The boys got over it fairly quickly but Madi had high temps for about 5 days!! I thought it was never going to end... Thank goodness everyone seems to be over now so hopefully we'll be able to enjoy the rest of the holidays.

It was great to get the kids out of the house yesterday. We headed to the Museum in Brisbane to see the dinosaurs (plus Paul wanted to see the DaVinci exhibition there at Southbank too). The kids thought it was 'awesome'!

(That dummy's really gotta go!)

Paul also took the boys earlier in the week to see the movie 'G Force' in 3D. They LOVED it!!! It was the first time they'd ever seen a 3D movie... and they looked hilarious in the glasses!
Last Thursday saw the new weekly challenges go up over at Scrapz Biz. It was my turn to set the sketch challenge...
Here's my sample...
I can't believe how much longer Madi's hair has grown since these photos were taken. It's almost to her waist now! Still can't bring myself to cut it... LOL
If you'd like to enter the sketch challenge just click here or head over to the Designer Zonez for more details. Hope you can find some time to join in! I'd love to see what you come up with!
Ok...gotta run. I've got about a million things to do today... but before I go how cute are these mugs I found while shopping the other day?!! As soon as I saw them I just had to have them!!! :)
Have a wonderful day!!! Take care!

My Littlest Little Man is 5!

Riley turned 5 on the weekend! It ended up being a whole weekend of birthday celebrations.

On Saturday we started the day with presents, pancakes for breakfast, then drove up to Nanna & Grandpa's place for more pressies, cake, a silly string fight (so much fun) and then we walked down the road to the new Lollipops indoor play centre. The kids had a blast! What a great place...slides, jumping castle, teacups ride, climbing structures, ball pits, air hockey, computer games, etc, etc. We had to drag them out after a few hours... they loved it and Riley really thought it was a cool birthday.

On Sunday Paul had to work so we hung out at home and Riley got to play all day with his new Thomas track... it's huge! He LOVES it. We made cupcakes, watched some movies, the boys played Playstation....a good day all round. Can't believe he's 5 already and next year he'll be off to Prep at school....wow.

It's challenge Thursday over at Scrapz Biz again and all the new challenges are up. This week I've set the Build It Up challenge to create a springtime canvas. I don't know about you but I've got a pile of blank canvases sitting in my cupboard that I've been meaning to do but never got around to using. I thought I'd finally get one done using one of my fave pics of Madi. Might put this one in her room I think...

If you'd like to join in the challenge you'll find more details here.

Here's a page I did the other night too...

I think that's about it for the time being. No doubt I've missed something out.....

Until next time...take care!

ps. Has anyone else seen the latest trailer to 'New Moon'? WOW... I seriously can't wait to see it!!!!! :)

Cuttlebug butterfly cards, etc...

This week's Noteworthy challenge over at Scrapz Biz is all about butterflies! I love butterflies and use them quite often on my projects...who could resist? For my sample cards I used the Cuttlebug Butterfly Combo Set to cut and emboss the butterflies... (I just know I'm going to get a lot of use out of this set! Love it. *grin*)

I used Basic Grey Lemonade papers and Chip Stickers, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder (on the first card) and Spellbinders Labels 1 (to get the shape of the second card).

All you have to do for this challenge is create a card with at least one butterfly on it. Stamp it, punch it... whatever you like! For more details on the challenge and how to enter click here. There are two shopping vouchers up for grabs!

I also had a go at Melleny's sketch challenge from last week...
I created the scallop frame using my Stampin' Up scallop border punch and managed to use up some old product mixed in with some new. Always feels good using up older stash!

Then I did Jen's Noteworthy challenge from last week too which was to use something recycled on a card. Ages ago I had cut out these little fabric shapes off one of Madi's shirts (which she'd destroyed by covering in permanent black pen) and thought one day I might be able to use them for something as they were so cute. This was the perfect opportunity!

The green check fabric background was also scrap material left over from another project. The colour matched really well!

On the homefront Ayden lost another tooth yesterday... another one already! Now he's got two gaping holes in his smile. LOL... Madi seems to be completely toilet trained! We're amazed at how easy it was for her... literally she was done after the first day and hasn't looked back! So it's bye bye to nappies at our place... that's gotta save us some money when we shop. Gotta love that! Riley's all excited as we'll be celebrating his birthday on the weekend and he's already snooping around the house trying to find his presents. :) He's got no chance. Hee hee hee

Before I go I wanted to say a big THANK YOU to Nic who gave me this adorable award...

How cute it that? Thanks Nic... you really are the sweetest and I truly appreciate it! *Mwah!*

Well, I hope you've all got a wonderful weekend planned! I'm off to grab a cuppa and watch The Amazing Race...love that show!

Take care,

Sheree xx

Has another week gone by already?

The days seem to be flying by at the moment for some reason... Time for another weekly challenge over at Scrapz Biz and this week I've set the Paint a Rainbow colour combo challenge . I chose a green/orange/red/white combo and came up with this sample layout...I've used some Sassafras Lass, Imaginisce, American Crafts and Doodlebug products on this one and decided to use black and white pics for a change ( Madi's hot pink shirt wouldn't have gone too well.... and we all know that grass is green right? *grin*)

I you'd like to have a go and this challenge (or any of the 4 new challenges posted today) just head on over to the Designer Zone for more details. You could win one of two shopping vouchers that are up for grabs!

That's all I've got to share at the moment...sorry. I've been working on more DT projects which I'll show you over the coming weeks. :)

On the homefront we've been busy with all the usual stuff. Paul hasn't stopped with work.. and it looks like he'll be working on Fathers Day this Sunday which is a bit of a bummer. We'll have a special brekkie before he heads off for the day though.

Riley has been getting right into Lego building this week.... I've often had to go and find him because he's been so quiet just to see he was still there! It's great to see him enjoying it so much and he's been very creative with it.

We've started toilet training with Madi and she's doing amazingly well! We've only had one accident over the past few days...surely it can't be this easy? I'm hoping she keeps it up.

Ayden's been busy at school as usual and yesterday they had the Book Week Character Parade. Ayden went as Ben 10 this time...

That mask looked so funny.... It was great to see all the kids dressed up and having so much fun. Even the teachers got into the spirit of the day!
Today I'm at home today waiting for the delivery of my new iPhone. Yippee!!! My old phone is on the way out so its time to upgrade and I've had to listen to Paul bragging about his iPhone for months now. LOL I can't wait...wish they would hurry up!
Hope everyone's feeling great! Thanks so much for dropping by :)
