This week...

What a stunning day we had here today! We decided to head to the beach for the afternoon. As soon as we got there the boys headed straight for the water. Even though the water was a little cold they just couldn't help themselves. Madi on the other hand was quite happy sitting up on the sand digging with her little spade and making sandcastles with Mummy. It was great to squeeze in another beach day before winter sets in.The boys both had a fun week back at school and kindy but I think Madi was missing them a little. She loved having them both home to play with over the holidays. Paul is flat out at work as always... don't know how he's keeping up with everything!?

I got busy with my sewing machine making a few more dolls this week. They're a little addictive! LOL! They're so cute and so easy to make. Mel came over for a sewing night Thursday night... it was much more fun sewing them together! I managed to get a couple done that night and finished off the other 2 the next day. Mel made great progress on a couple for her girls and I'm looking forward to seeing hers all finished. Here are my latest four....
Tonight I thought I'd give the April Sketch Comp a go over at Anna's Craft Cupboard. I don't often get around to entering these things.... but this time I got scrapping! Here's my take on the sketch....

(The left side got sliced off a little in the scan... sorry about that!) I just love these pics of Madi... especially the larger one! Just about everything on this one is American Crafts, except for the Jillibean journalling spot, the Pink Paislee letter stickers and Sandylion butterfly stamps.

We don't have too much planned for the rest of the weekend...but might think about doing some Mother's Day shopping tomorrow. It'd be nice to be organised...plus I think I'd much prefer to shop than do housework... ewww!

Well... hope you're having a great weekend. Take care!

Dolls, Cards & a Layout...

The school holidays are officially over... and boy they flew by fast! Tomorrow morning will be back to school lunches, uniforms and school runs again. It's been so nice having both the boys home and that they've had lots of time together and with Madi to play and just hang out. We didn't really go anywhere too exciting with Paul so busy with work, but they still had trips to the movies, the beach, visits with Nanna & Grandpa, the scooter park, etc... so they've had fun.

In amongst it all I found some time to sew during last week. After visiting Cherie's blog and seeing the gorgeous little dolls that she had made with her daughters, I had the sudden urge to make Madi one! Cherie e-mailed me the link for the free pattern and tutorial on the Martha Stewart website and half an hour later I had fabric all over the floor trying to decided what to use. I was only going to make one... but got a little carried away and ended up making four!
Don't they look happy? I was planning on keeping a couple as gifts, but as soon as Madi saw them she claimed them all... so I guess I'll be making some more now. They were quite fun and pretty easy to make.

Mum and Dad came down and stayed for the weekend so Paul and I could go out to dinner and a movie on Saturday night - our belated anniversary celebration. We haven't been out without the kids in SOOOO long... we felt quite lost! LOL... But it was wonderful. So nice just to relax and enjoy a meal together and chat... then we headed to the movies and saw Fast & Furious - boys movie for sure but still enjoyed it.

I ran my monthly Cuttlebug Card Class at Sunbird Scrapbooking yesterday. We had another great bunch of ladies come along... and my Mum came too! It's the first time she's ever been to one of my classes and it was so much fun to have her there! Here are the cards from the class using the Kaiser Fun Fair papers...

Here's one last share for today. I've come to the conclusion that I really struggle with pastel coloured papers on layouts! LOL... I really wanted to keep the colours soft and pretty on this one to tone in with the colours in the photos... It didn't turn out quite the way I'd pictured...oh well! (The great thing is that everything I used on the layout has been in my stash for ages. Love using up old stuff!)

I hope you've all had a great weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy Easter Everyone!!!

Well if you're like me you're SO over chocolate right about now!!! It's rediculous the amount of eggs and chocolate bunnies we have in our kitchen...the kids must have been really good this year!! LOLWe spent the whole Easter weekend up at my Mum and Dad's place. The kids had so much fun being able to play with their cousins every day... something they don't get to do that often. I love that even though they don't see each other much they pick up right where they left off! I also got to catch up with both of my brothers as well...loved it! It's a pity it rained on and off all weekend... but it didn't spoil the fun. I didn't manage to any good photos of the kids doing their Easter hunt... very disappointing... but we were up so early and they were moving too fast for me to keep up!!!

I'd better do a quick update on our goings on in the lead up to the Easter weekend too while I'm here...it all went by in a blur really!
Paul and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary on Tuesday! (Sounds kinda weird to say it's only been 8 years since we've been together for 19 years!!! I know.... we took our sweet time! LOL) We haven't actually gone out to celebrate yet since Paul's been so busy with work, but we're planning on doing that next weekend. (Better late than never!) I've had these funny pics of Paul sitting around for a while so decided to scrap them to sort of mark the occasion. (I really need to do more about him... and the both of us together for that matter!)

Then I made a card with the leftovers...These American Crafts papers are my faves at the moment... love the colours! I remembered I've had some photos of the boys in their gumboots sitting around (for about 3yrs!) that would go really well with these colours so I dragged them out and got them scrapped too... felt good to finally get them onto paper!

Thursday we had Ayden's Easter Hat Parade at school. Our school gets the kids to make their hats themselves in class (makes it so much easier for us Mums and Dads at home!) and they had all done such a great job! Here's Ayden proudly wearing his...
It was a lot of fun! They all got to show off their hats, sang some songs and had a little dance too!

That's is from me a the moment. Hope you've all had a great Easter weekend! Try not to eat all those eggs in one go! LOL

A little scrappin'...

Ok... so I know I've been using a lot of October Afternoon papers lately... but what can I say? I love them all!! I got busy last night working on this one...

These photos of Ayden were take at Luna Park last year. He surprised us by wanting to have a go on this spinning ride and ended up winning by being the last one left after all the other kids were gradually flung off! He was so proud of himself!

I threw in a little Basic Grey, a Hambly transparency, some new (& old) Thickers, some Kelly Panacci & Inque Boutique stickers, made use of some old Heidi Swapp foam star stamps and some eyelets. Then with the leftovers I thought I'd make a card too... it's a great way to use up scraps!

We're having a very wet few days here at the moment but the kids are keeping themselves occupied with lots of Lego building, games and dvds. I think they'll be going a little stir-crazy by tomorrow though! LOL

Hope you're having a great weekend!
