A precious new baby girl...

Just look at this precious little baby girl...

My friend Val's daughter Kirsty gave birth to beautiful Tayla Rose early Wednesday morning at only 27 weeks! She weighs only 1122g... so tiny!!! Mum & Bub are doing well and Val is over the moon about her gorgeous little granddaughter! I can't wait to meet her... she's so adorable! Welcome to the world beautiful girl!

It's a public holiday here today for the Gold Coast show. We were going to take the kids but today saw lots of black clouds rolling in and we just didn't feel like getting caught in the rain. Maybe next year.... Instead Paul has just taken the boys to see the Star Wars- The Clone Wars movie... I'm not sure who'll enjoy it more - Paul or the boys!?

There's not a lot to tell about this past week - the usual at home stuff. I did have a Scrap-a-Sketch class at Sunbird Scrapbooking though. It's always fun to catch up with the girls! Here are my two class examples for this week...

Sorry - not the best scans of these... there were a few lumpy embellishments on them playing havoc with the scanner! You get the idea though.... I finally got to use my Chatterbox papers (on the second one)... so much fun to use!

There are lots of classes scheduled throughout September over at Sunbird so if you're here on the Gold Coast head over to the website for a look! There are weekday, weekend and even a couple of night classes to choose from with a variety of teachers and class themes. I'd love to see you there!

Well, I can hear Madi clip-clopping around the house... sounds like she's found some of my high-heels again! LOL! She really is such a girl! Totally obsessed with shoes and she's so proud of herself when she manages to get mine on. I'm always finding my shoes around the house in strange places... the boys' room, the kitchen, the bathroom. Here's a photo I snapped of her this morning in my heels...

Hope you've all got great plans for the weekend! I'm off to rescue my shoes...LOL!

Mozzies, layouts and a gyro...

How good has the Olympics been!? We've been really enjoying all the action on tv whenever we can and there has been so many amazing moments. Riley is now so tuned into recognising the Aussie athletes wearing the green and gold, that everywhere we go now if he sees someone wearing a yellow shirt he yells out... "Look Mum! There's a Mozzie!" So funny...

I had another Scrap-a-Sketch class at Sunbird Scrapbooking yesterday. (Thanks for coming along girls!) Here are my two layout examples...

(I'm loving October Afternoon products at the moment! Can't get enough!)

(The doodled border has been cut off the left hand side of this one in the scan but you get the idea.) I've been meaning to scrap these great pics of Ayden and Boen for ages! So glad I've finally done it.

The Sunbird Scrapbooking website is now up and running too! There are still a few things to be added but you can now view the class timetable and read all about the new teachers we have too. Also, if you are in the Gold Coast area over this weekend (and next weekend too), head on in to the store as Sunbird is having a big "Clean Out The Nest" sale with a huge range of papers at 50% off! (The store is now open on Sundays 10.30am till 3pm starting this weekend!)

Yesterday Riley got a sneak peek of the Kindy he'll be going to next year and he was SO excited!!!! He couldn't wait to tell me all about it when I got home from work yesterday arvo... telling me all about the tractors and all the toys they have there! I really hope he's still as excited about it when we drop him off for the first time. LOL I think he's more than ready for it and I'm sure he's going to absolutely love it once he starts. Just gotta wait for the new year now! (Although I'm not in any hurry ... hee hee)
Paul's gone for a drive down south today....he's finally gone ahead and bought himself a gyrocopter. ARRGGGGHHHH!!!!! I'm shivering in my shoes just thinking about him flying the thing around....I know he's an awesome helicopter pilot and all, but I just can't feel good about him flying a gyro! Mum has told him he's only allowed to sit and look at it and takes photos of it.... I'm with her! LOL!

Anyway, that's about it from me today! Hope you're all enjoying you week. I've got one very tired little girl to put to bed....

This past week...

This week has just flown by! It's been quite busy here at our place. We started off with Ayden's school excursion to The Farm School on Monday. Paul went along with him for the day (which he thought was pretty awesome) and they learned about all sorts of things about life on the farm, feeding the animals, making damper... all sorts of things! (It's a shame siblings couldn't go along because Riley would have loved it too.) He came home with his very own tomato plant in a styrofoam cup that he had decorated... he was very proud of himself! Paul took lots of great photos on the day. I'd love to share some of them but haven't got permission from the other kids' parents... Here are a couple with Ayden in them...

The rest of the week has been filled with work (both Paul & I), housework, school runs...the usual boring stuff...although I did manage to get my hair done on Wednesday! I can't remember the last time I had a haircut....it really neeeded it! LOL!

I haven't got any layouts to share in this post as I've been doing lots of preparation for September classes for Sunbird Scrapbooking. The website should be up and running after this weekend so go and check it out during the week. There are HEAPS of classes scheduled for the coming month. Here are a few sneak peek pics of some of my September classes...

If you would like any info on my classes or any of the other classes running throughout September just give the store a call on (07) 5520 5598 or feel free to e-mail me!

Yesterday I drove up to Mum & Dad's place for a birthday BBQ for both my younger brothers. Their birthdays are exactly 7 days apart (although Steve is 5 years younger than Mick). It's so nice when we can all get together at the same time! Usually there's someone missing in action LOL! The kids had an absolute ball playing together. I haven't downloaded any pics from my camera yet otherwise I'd post a couple...

I will leave you with a couple of funny pics I took last week of the kids on the trampoline though. Madi's hair has been going crazy with all the static around with this weather at the moment and when she got onto the trampoline with the boys this is what it ended up like!....

Hope you've all had a fantastic weekend! Catchya soon!

And The Winner Is...

This morning my very handsome little assistant drew the RAK winner out of our very high tech competition barrel.... ok so it was a little cane basket... and the winner is.....

YAY HELEN!!!!! I just can't wait to see what you create with your bundle of goodies!!! Hope you like them! Just e-mail me with your details and I'll pop them in the post to you asap! Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to leave a comment. I really do appreciate it... and it was lovely to see some new 'faces' too! (Oh and by the way... don't worry... every strip of paper in the basket was the same size no matter how long or short your name is :))

So with that out of the way I guess it's time for an update!
Madi had her 18 mth needle on Monday. I was really dreading it! She had been really good with all her previous needles but since she's so much older now I wasn't sure how she would handle it this time. To my surprise there wasn't even a murmer!!! No flinching, no crying... I was amazed!!!! (And so was the nurse mind you!) What a brave little sweetie she was! She hasn't shown any side effects either so it's been fantastic. As a reward for being so brave we gave her a new Big Sister Dora doll and she just adores it.

I ran another Scrap-a-Sketch class on Wednesday at Sunbird Scrapbooking and here are my two examples:
The first one I did on 'Tubbs' and Ayden. 'Tubbs' is the class cat at school and each child gets a turn at bringing him home for an adventure weekend.
The second one is all about Madi's love for Dora. She's got so much Dora stuff now and she loves it all! I love these super cute pics... (I've used one of Yvette's journalling spots on this and the next layout. Check out her etsy store if you'd like some...I love them!)

Here's another layout that I haven't been able to share until now...

And finally I've got this layout in the latest issue of Scrapbook Creations. The colours look a little different in the magazine....

I had all the girls here on Friday night for some scrapping... although once again we did more chatting, laughing and eating more than scrapping! LOL! But it was a lot of fun. Unfortunately Val & Sandra had to leave a little early but Mel and Leanne stayed on. Of course we had SYTYCD on tv in the background... couldn't miss that! Then the opening ceremony of the Olympics came on...spectacular!!!
We've been watching the Olympics over the weekend and it's been great so far. I've been amazed at how much interest Riley has taken with it all! He's been watching it all last night before bed and then most of today as well. We've told him to look for the competitors in green and gold and he's worked out who the Aussies are now and it's the cutest thing to listen to him barracking for them. "GO MOZZIES!!!" LOL!!!!!! I keep telling him it's "Aussies" but he just can't help but call them mozzies!! It's the funniest thing!! I think he's definitely going to be our little sports nut...
Well I think that's all from me today. Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend! I'm off to watch Madi & Riley on the trampoline. It looks like Madi's hair has already gone wild with static off the tramp mat!! LOL!!! Maybe I'll grab the camera too....

My 100th Blog Post!!!

It may not seem like a lot compared to some blogs... but I can't believe I've done 100 posts!!! When I first started this blog I wasn't quite sure how long it would be before I lost interest and let it go... little did I know how much I would grow to love my little blog and how many wonderful friendships I would make because of it!! I want to thank each and every one of you for stopping by from time to time to have a read...for taking the time to leave me comments (which always brightens my day!). So to celebrate I thought I'd do my very first ever RAK!! I put this little bundle of goodies together tonight....

If you'd like to get your hands on them all you need to do is leave a comment on this post before midnight Saturday 9 August. I'll randomly draw someone's name and announce the winner on my blog sometime on Sunday 10 August. So even if you usually don't leave any comments, PLEASE make sure you do at least just this once to be in the running!!!
Now my other exciting news is that last night I got confirmation that I'll be going here...

WOOHOO!!! Leanne, Mel and I will be off to spend the day with Heidi Swapp... a whole day of classes and inspiration and we can't wait!!!! We're counting down the days already... Who else is going? Hope to see you there!

So I guess I should do a quick update for the rest of the week too...

I had invited Leanne & Mel around for a cuppa on Thursday morning so Wednesday I got busy in the kitchen in preparation. I was pretty proud of myself because I ended up baking some coconut jam biscuits and apple crumble slice (both from scratch!) and some mini cupcakes. (Paul will tell you... I very rarely ever bake... it's just not my thing... and usually if I do it's a quick packet mix... I know it sounds terrible but I'm just not one of those people that enjoy cooking! LOL) Here's a pic...
Then Leanne arrived Thursday morning with this amazing home-baked sponge cake!!!! I have to tell you it tasted even better than it looks... sooo YUM!

Mel arrived soon after and we had a lovely morning full of great conversation, laughter, drinking & too much eating!! I just love these girls... they are such great company!! (You know the crazy thing is we took photos of the food and not ourselves!? How silly was that?! Have to fix that next time...)

It was the most beautiful day here on the Gold Coast today! The sun was shining, it was nice and warm with a slight cool breeze... so we took the kids down to the park at Burleigh Beach. They love it there! They wore themselves out playing on the swings, the slide, running around and playing with the other kids. We had fish & chips for lunch then went for a walk along the beach. It was so nice to get out into the fresh air and enjoy the outdoors for a change! I'm looking forward to the next few months if today was anything to go by!

I haven't done a lot of scrapping this week, but I did throw this one together the other night using scraps that I've had sitting around for a LONG time. (I was feeling all inspired after visiting Janelle's & Helen's blogs. Thanks girls... you know I love your work!) Still not sure if I really like it though! LOL Paul's comment when he saw it was "Oh that's not too bad!" LOL Maybe the pink background wasn't the best choice.... Oh well! It's done now... but I do love the photos!

I didn't realise my 100th post was going to be so long! Sorry about that! PLEASE don't forget to leave a comment and say hi to be in the draw for the RAK!!! Enjoy your week everyone!

Sheree xx

PS. Thankyou so much again Mardi for my happy mail this week!!!! You really are the sweetest!!! xx
