This week...

Where did this week go? It seems to have whipped by so fast... I haven't managed to get much scrapping done this week so I'm afraid I don't have any layouts to share at the moment! Hopefully I'll get some creating time over the next couple of days...

We had our first parent/teacher interview this week and we were sooo happy to hear how well Ayden is going at school. Apparently he's really good with his computer skills and is often called on to help the other kids, he's great at building and drawing, and the other kids all love him! He's the first on the scene if someone gets hurt and he loves helping whoever he can. Ms Taylor says he has such a kind heart... so lovely to hear! We're pretty proud of our little man!

After two weeks I finally have a washing machine to use again!!! YIPPEEEE!!!!! The part finally arrived from Melbourne on Friday and Paul (clever handyman that he is) managed to get it all back together and working again last night. It saved us a bundle of money with Paul being able to fix it himself. So the rest of my weekend will be filled with washing and ironing.... doesn't sound very exciting I know but I'll be happy to catch up on the backlog of towels and sheets sitting in a pile on the laundry floor!

That's it from me today! I know.... not a very exciting post.... but thanks for dropping by! Hope you all have a great Sunday!

Happy Easter!

Hasn't this Easter weekend just flown by? It sure feels like it here!
On Thursday I got to spend the morning at school with Ayden in his classroom. It was so much fun! Lots of parents came along for the morning and we made Easter hats (ready for their hat parade later that day), drew pictures, did a treasure hunt around the school and had a lovely morning tea.
I always love to see how Ayden interacts with his teacher and classmates... and I find it amazing to watch how the teachers there manage to keep the kids under control! All it takes is a "1,2,3, eyes on me!" and they have all the kids full attention... if only that would work at home! Anyway... the morning was finished off with their Easter hat parade, which was a lot of fun with the kids all showing off what they had made, then they sang songs and danced a little too. I'd love to share more pics but there are so many other kids in the photos I'd better not post them here without permission. It was a great morning though.

It was lovely to have Friday at home and have a lazy day pottering around the house... no school runs... just us all here together for a change! I had to work all day Saturday though, then Saturday evening we drove up to Mum & Dad's place for the night so we could all be together for the big egg hunt on Sunday morning. Ayden had been counting down the days all week and he was so excited!

So Sunday morning we were all up early finding lots of eggs hidden all around the house! The Easter bunny even left magical paw prints on the kitchen bench where the boys had left him a carrot and a picture....

The kids all had fun collecting eggs in their baskets... even Madi got in on it! It took Madi a little while to realise that those brightly coloured things actually had chocolate inside... then we had to put them all out of her reach otherwise she just wouldn't stop unwrapping them! Trying to get a nice photo of the three of them together proved to be quite a challenge - so many distractions with all those eggs around - but here's one we managed to snap...

My brother Mick popped around for a while - it was great to catch up as we hadn't seen him for ages. Unfortunately he had to leave before lunch, but then my other brother Steve arrived and we had a yummo BBQ while the kids swam in the pool. Here's a few more pics from our BBQ lunch....
We headed back home yesterday afternoon with very full tummies and way too much chocolate. I'm sure it's going to take us months to get through it all!

Paul's back at work today so it's a quiet day at home with just the kids and I. There' s always plenty to do though! I hope everyone has had a fantastic Easter weekend full of fun, family and friends.... and lots of chocolate too of course!

More Layouts... and I've been Tagged!

I've had a great time today with a lovely bunch of ladies in my Scrap-a-Sketch class today. I'm always amazed at how different everyone's layouts turn out in these classes - that's what I love about them! Here are my two examples:(My sketch this week was for a double page layout and I have to admit I found it a challenge to get it done since I've scrapped single pages for so long now! I'm glad to have these show pics scrapped now though as they've been sitting on my desk for ages.)

I did a single page as my second example. Love these pics of Madi! She loves getting on the trampoline, especially with the boys. She can't really jump yet but loves to bounce and plop her bottom down on it. She's really funny to watch.

Over the past week or so I've been tagged by not one, but two lovely ladies! So here we go....

The first one is from Belinda...

Here are the rules:
You must post the rules before you give your answers. You must list one fact about yourself for each letter of your middle name. Each fact must begin with that letter. If you don't have a middle name, just use your maiden name. After you've been tagged, you need to up-date your blog with your middle name and answers. At the end of your post, you need to tag one person for each letter of your middle name. (Be sure to leave them a comment telling them they've been tagged and need to read your blog for details).

Here's my answers:

L - Love my scrapping time
Y - Yearn for more
N - Never have enough time in the day!

Ok, so I though that was going to be really hard at first, but it wasn't so bad... So now I tag Leanne, Cherie and Yvette.

So the other tag was from Yvette...

Here are the rules ->
1. Once you are tagged, link back to the person who tagged you.
2. Post the RULES on your blog.
3. Post 7 weird or random facts about yourself on your blog.
4. Tag 7 people and link to them.
5. Comment on their blog to let them know they have been tagged.

Wow, I don't know if I'll be able to come up with 7! Hmmm...... here we go...
1. I've done a tandem skydive
2. I spent a year living on a cattle station in the NT
3. Lived on Hamilton Island for about 4.5 years
4. We've moved house 7 times in the last 5 years
5. I really don't enjoy cooking!
6. I've always got chocolate in my fridge
7. I have a scrap room but usually bring everything out to the kitchen table so I can watch TV while I scrap!

So I just don't know who I can tag with this one who hasn't already been tagged! So I'll leave it up to you... if you'd like to do it, add it to your blog and let me know! I'd love to read your random facts!

That's enough from me tonight.... looks like Madi's ready for a bottle and bed! Enjoy the rest of your week and have a fabulous Easter weekend!

Ayden's First Award...

That's right! Today we attended Ayden's school assembly to see him get his very first ever school award!

The certificate says "Congratulations Ayden for helping others in class to fold paper - origami. For also being kind and considerate." We were so excited when his teacher told us about it yesterday.... and we sat there watching him this morning proud as punch! (It even put a little tear in my eye...) He just loves going to school and he's fitted in so well! I so hope he continues to enjoy school as much as he does now...

I thought I'd also mention that tomorrow The Scrapyard is holding their ScrapBOOT Sale! It's a fantastic opportunity to sell some of your old stuff and pick up some great bargains, so if you're in the area make sure you head on over there to check it out!

We did have one little disaster here at home yesterday... my washing machine BROKE!! ARRRGGHHHH!! I couldn't believe it... Paul had to take the whole thing apart, and found that the drum support and bearing shaft had snapped! So now we're waiting on a part to arrive in Brisbane so we can get it fixed... In the meantime I'll be taking my washing up to Mum's tomorrow to get it all done... what a hassle!! I'm really hoping the new part arrives before the Easter weekend.....GRRRRRR!!!!!!

I finished off my Easter shopping today. YAY! It should be so much fun this year... Madi's old enough now to get involved with finding and collecting the eggs. She'll look so cute waddling along with her basket!

Before I sign off for tonight I wanted to say a HUGE HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my nephew Dylan. HAPPY 13TH! I can't believe you're a teenager already!!! Have an awesome time at your party!

That's it from me! Have a fabulous weekend everyone!

This week...

I've got a couple more layouts to share this week. This one is appearing in the latest issue of Scrapbooking Memories. I just love this photo of Riley! It really captures his cheeky, fun-loving side.
Another one of Riley from today's class at The Scrapyard...

(I just realised that they're both the same brown/blue/green colour scheme! Sorry about that! I don't have anything else to share at the moment...)

We had Mum & Dad visit on Sunday. We hadn't seen them for a few weeks so it was great to catch up. Mum thought that Madi's hair looked a lot fairer than the last time she saw her... and that Riley has really shot up. (It's funny how you don't notice these things when you're with them all the time.) Both Mum & Dad also commented on how much better Ayden's speech has become too since he started school. (They find him so much easier to understand on the phone now.) They stayed most of the day and the kids just loved having them here.

Madi's two front teeth have FINALLY pushed their way through her gums! She's now got about 4 other top teeth trying to come down too... poor little thing. I can't wait until this teething business is all over - I'm sure she'll be a lot happier too!

Oh yeah...another thing I wanted record.... Whenever we give Ayden a banana as part of his lunch for school, it goes into a basket in the classroom as a mid-morning snack so we write his name on the side of it. A while ago we started drawing simple pictures next to his name - like a star or a smiley face which he liked to see everyday.... but lately Paul has been going all out with his pictures and they're really quite good!! Ayden loves them, and he has the coolest bananas in the class! So I thought I'd share some of Paul's 'Banana Art'! Here are a couple of his masterpieces...

Other than that not much else has been happening really... just the usual school runs and work.

I'm looking forward to the weekend though! Mum and I are heading up to the Papercraft Festival in Brisbane.... hopefully it will be worth the trip!

That's it from me tonight... I can hear the kettle boiling and the chocolate calling me from the fridge.....

Take care!

More Scrapping...

I just finished this one last night using the new Cherry Arte paper. I wouldn't normally using so much black and red on a page for Madi but I quite like how this turned out. (And I love those gorgeous photos!) I don't know if you can see it, but I've cut the wings of the larger butterflies away from the background and popped them off the page a little.

(Sorry! I've had to remove this layout as it
has been requested for publication by
Scrapbooking Memories. Yippee!!)

I ran another Scrap-a-Sketch class at The Scrapyard today. All the ladies did such a beautiful job on their layouts! I love seeing how different each one turns out. Here are my two examples of the sketch...

That's about it from me today! There's hasn't really been a lot happening at our place over the last few days...

Thankyou for visiting my blog! Hope everyone's having a great week!

Another layout, and some other stuff...

I got scrapping yesterday and managed to get this one done. despite the hundred and one interruptions from my 3 little rascals!!I've had these pics in a bag with the paper and rub-ons for months!! So finally I sat down and got it done. Madi was only about 7 mths in these shots and had a terrible rash on her chubby little cheeks, but I still love these cheeky photos. I also wanted to record how close she was to crawling at this stage too.

Speaking of Madi, I thought I'd share this pic I took yesterday of her with her two little pigtails. Very cute! They're looking a bit uneven in this shot but she'd been rolling around on the floor playing. LOL! I've been waiting and waiting until I could actually put her hair up! Her fringe is so long now it's much easier to put it up than just use a clip. (She pulls the clips out all the time.)

Would you believe I actually baked last night?! I know it's a shock! I'll do anything when I'm craving a little chocolate!!! LOL! I found this really easy recipe on Melissa Goodsell's blog, and let me tell you - it really was sooo simple and it tastes fantastic!!

It went down really well with my cup of tea last night. The boys have been eyeing if off this morning all ready and I'm trying to hold them off!

We don't really have a lot planned for today. Just a day at home... I'm sure I'll end up attacking my humungous pile of ironing that's calling me from the laundry! Gee... that'll be fun :(

While I'm here I just wanted to thank you lovely ladies for taking the time to leave me comments here on my blog. I really appreciate it and I LOVE reading them.... so THANKYOU !!!

Have a great Sunday!
