A couple of layouts...

Thought I'd share these... they are 2 examples of the sketch I used for my class at The Scrapyard today, which is why they look kind of similar in basic design.

I've handstitched the curve on this one and added french knots in each of the stitching holes all the way around for something a little different.

I don't know if you can see it, but I did the silly thing of starting to handsew beads onto the felt bird's tail & wing.... regretted it once I had started as it was so fiddly... but it turned out ok. I also dragged out some old ant brads that I've had sitting around forever. (I've been trying to use up some of my old stuff when I can lately.)

Still no progress on Madi's teeth... you can see her top 4... they are soooo close to breaking through her gums it's not funny! I really wish they would hurry up as Madi's one fiesty little girl at the moment - screaming at the drop of a hat, not eating properly, very clingy....poor thing! We'll ALL be happy when they finally make their appearance.

That's it from me at the moment... time to organise dinner and baths! Have a great evening!

And so it begins...

I knew it would happen sooner or later.... just didn't think it would happen quite yet! Ayden's given a little girl his very first love letter! LOL! It was so adorable really... before school on Friday he sat down to draw Ms Taylor a picture (like he has every other morning this week!). He drew a picture of a girl with long blonde hair, some grass, the sky and the sun, etc, etc. He then folded it up and asked me for an envelope to put it in. He wrote his name on the back, along with a flower, a heart and a butterfly, then on the front he wrote I (heart) U. So off we went to school... we were sitting outside the classroom waiting for the bell to ring, when I look over to see Ayden giving the letter to a little girl called Kalani. She looked quite happy and took it over to show her Mum (Ayden went with her) and they opened it saying how lovely it was. Ayden stood there with a gooey grin on his face and his hand on her shoulder while she was looking at it. Her Mum thought it was so cute and we had a little chuckle about it all. (And poor Ms Taylor missed out on her picture too!) LOL! So when he got home in the afternoon, he just had to sit down and draw her another picture! I asked him why he likes Kalani and he said "She helps me all day long, even with packing up! She's so pretty. I like girls!" Oh dear..... he's only 5!!

Poor little Madi has been soooo grizzly over the last couple of days. She's got both her top teeth popping through her gums and she's feeling the effects of her needles from last week too (apparently they feel grizzly about a week afterwards)..... she's had temps over the last couple of nights and has been so restless, crying over the slightest things... poor little sweetie! I'm hoping she has a better night tonight...
Well, the kids are all in bed so I'm off to scrap!! Have a great Sunday!

Just a little peek...

I've been busy scrapping and getting organised for the Scrap-a-Sketch classes I'll be running next week and during March at The Scrapyard. Since I can't show you the full layouts just yet I thought I'd give you a little peak at what I've been up to...
If you're interested, check out the website for more details on class dates and what to bring - I'd love to see you there!
Not much else happening at our place lately! Just the usual school runs, housework, work....pretty boring really! If anyone has seen the ironing fairy can you send her my way?

Just had to share...

We've been amazed by some of the artwork Ayden has been bringing home from school already. His drawing is really coming along and his writing is already improving as well. He brought this beautiful painting home the other day... do you recognise who it is? Well it's me of course!!! LOL! Don't you love it? I especially love my enormous belly button and big brown eyebrows!!! (These are new things that he's including in his drawings... its funny the things they start becoming aware of...) He's really enjoying school so far... even got up this morning asking if he could go today!

I took Madi for her 12 mth immunisation yesterday. I was geared up for a full-on screaming match, but to my absolute surprise she didn't even cry once!!! She had 3 needles, one in each arm and 1 in her leg... didn't even flinch for the first two, had a little jump at the third and that was it!!! What a brave girl! I was so relieved...

That's about it from me tonight... I'm planning on a little scrapping if I can get the kids into bed! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Paul's Valentines Prank...

I had a few things to get done today while Ayden was at school... one of them being heading over to The Scrapyard to organise some classes for next month. When I got there Sandra handed me a red envelope telling me a guy with olive skin, fairly good looking had been waiting at the door when she arrived to open up. He gave her the envelope to give to me. Straight away I said "It's gotta be Paul!" but Sandra told me that she's sure she's seen Paul in my photos and she didn't think it was him. I didn't recognise the writing on the envelope (although the little question mark in brackets seemed very much like Paul's writing!) It said...
How weird!! I still didn't recognise the handwriting... but surely it was Paul trying to disguise his? Even Val tried to throw me off. Hmmmmm.... So I left the store a little later thinking it had to Paul but if not it's going to feel quite creepy and a little spooky too.... So I get home and say to Paul "Now I know where you REALLY were this morning!" (After dropping Ayden off at school this morning, he had supposedly gone to chat to one of the guys at work, then went to the shops...) Well he denied it all day long, did quite a convincing job of it too! But I finally got him to fess up tonight!!! I KNEW it was him!!! And Sandra and Val were in on it!!!! Ratbags!! Apparently he thought it would be a bit of a laugh and he had some time to kill..... how CHEEKY can you get?!!! Sometimes he entertains himself in the strangest ways......... LOL!

Anyway, I also just wanted to thank you all for the lovely birthday wishes!!! (I forgot to mention that in my last post in my rush to get it done...) It was so nice of you all and reading them really brightened my day... so THANK YOU!!

Well, I'm a little disappointed that So You Think You Can Dance isn't on tonight... why can't it be on every night? How awesome are all those dancers?!!! Just amazing.... So instead of being glued to the tv I might get some scrapping done instead tonight! Hope you're all having a lovely evening!

A couple of layouts...

Just thought I'd share these two layouts... I did this one the other night. I LOVE this photo of the boys! Then there's this one.... I actually did this last year but never scanned it!

Yep... it's Paul! I'm sure he has more fun with the boy's things than they do! LOL!

That's it from me today... I've got 2 very LOUD boys running around the house like crazy things and 1 little tired girl who's after a bottle and a cuddle with Mum. Have a great weekend everyone!

Another Year Older...

It's my birthday today... and I've been really spoiled this morning! I woke up to some beautifully wrapped prezzies from Paul and the kids... a Kelly Lane Vase, some Calvin Klein Euphoria perfume (in the coolest looking bottle!) and a Making Memories Desktop Carousel!!!! Lucky Me!!! My scrapping desk is going to be soooo organised!!

Paul is working today but he still managed to cook me our traditional pancake birthday brekkie before he left ... YUM!!! (Very fitting too since today is Pancake Day!)
We had a very wet school run this morning, not much fun with only one umbrella between the 4 of us! So after I dropped Ayden off I took Riley and Madi shopping for raincoats and kids umbrellas - we'll be looking good this afternoon!
After the shopping trip I dropped into the post office on the way home to pick up some parcels and I got the most lovely surprise from my beautiful friend Belinda! A gorgeous figurine - so beautifully wrapped with a handmade gift bag and card. (Thank you so much Belinda!!) There was also a friendship page for my album too - LOVE it!!!
So I'm feeling very lucky and having a wonderful day so far! Just trying not to think about the fact that I'm now another year older.....LOL! Haven't got much planned for the rest of the day... some time playing with the kids... picking up Ayden from school... hopefully I'll get some scrapping time in today at some stage!
I'm off to find a good spot on my desk for my new carousel.... have a great day everyone!!

Madi's First Birthday Party...

We had a little party (& BBQ lunch) today to celebrate Madi's first birthday! Not the best day for a BBQ as it has rained on and off all day but we all had a great time anyway. The kids always love getting together with their cousins to play - always nice to catch up with family...

Madi got some lovely presents... a doll's pram set (which is actually a 7 in 1 set - pram, highchair, bed, carry basket, etc) and some clothes from Nanna K & Grandpa, a dolly from her cousins & Aunty Mel, and a giant teddy from Uncle Steve. I was spoiled too with some early birthday prezzies.... Mum & Dad gave me a beautiful vase for my kitchen bench and a Making Memories Desk Top Organiser - so cool!! I guess I should probably have waited until the actual day to open them... but it was fun to do it while they were here!

Keeping this post short tonight as I'm gearing up to watch the first episode of "So You Think You Can Dance".... I LOVE that show!! So glad it's back on.....

Hope everyone has had a great weekend!
