This week....

What a gorgeous day it's been here today! It's been great getting all that rain over the past week but you've gotta love that sunshine! A little taste of spring......

I've been scrapping up a storm over the past week! I think I've done 5 layouts!!!!! Amazing! Unfortunately though I can't share them just yet as they're all DT layouts - I'll put them up when I can......

Paul took the boys over the road to the park last night to check out the red moon. They rugged up with their jackets over their pj's and torches in hand, off they went. They loved it!

Ayden came back telling me all about the moon and how he saw some bats with "really big eyes" and that they were "really scary"! LOL It's funny some of the things he comes out with.... I think Riley just loved being outside at night with the torch!

Today the lovely Leanne popped over for a cuppa and a chat - always nice! (Hi Leanne! *waving*) As she was walking through the front door Paul was on his way out to get some petrol and visit the bakery. Ten minutes later my mobile rang and it was Paul -he'd filled the car, then realised he'd left his wallet at home!!! He was soooo embarrassed - to make it even more amusing he was wearing a t-shirt that said "Don't blame me!" Leanne stayed with the kids while I flew over there with the wallet, and by the time I got back Riley was standing on a towel in the hallway because he'd wet his pants (he's toilet training at the moment)!!! Poor Leanne!! She didn't know where anything was - lucky I got back when I did! (Thanks again for your help Leanne!)

Madi has a terrible rash on her cheeks at the moment - I really hope it clears up soon 'cause she's got the cutest chubby little cheeks! She's also starting to roll around on the floor trying to get up on her hands and knees. It won't be long and she'll be crawling all over the place! It's going to be so tricky trying to keep the boys toys away from her..... all those matchbox cars, trains and transformers.... so many little pieces...... I must say I'm dreading it! I'm sure the boys will help out a little because they won't want her slobbering all over their things..... ewwww!
That's about it from me at the moment... thanks for dropping by!

Crazy wild weather!

Wow it's been so wild and woolly here over the past couple of days! (So nice to have the rain though - the grass looks greener already!!) Paul was out flying in it yesterday too - I always worry about him when the weather is bad but he loves the challenge it presents! I hope the wind isn't as bad today.......

Well - it's official that my brother is finally moving out of home tomorrow! Poor Mum..... she's really feeling it - she'd be happy if none of us had ever left home! It'll be the first time in about 34 years that it's just her and Dad at home, so she's quite sad even though she's wishing Steve all the best. It's going to take a bit of adjusting and the house will seem quite empty........ don't worry Mum he'll come back and visit as much as he can - plus he's only a phone call away!!

Madi has turned into a little chatterbox lately - especially when she's eating something (like banana) that she really loves! (needless to say the food just won't stay in there when she's talking so much!) It really is adorable - her latest words are "yah yah yah yah yah" - too cute! She's also decided that she prefers to suck on her dummy with it upside down - makes her look so cheeky....here's a pic...

The boys have become quite obsessed with the computer lately (a little scary when they're only 2 & 4!) but they love to scroll throught the photos on the computer and visit the "Thomas" site to play games and things..... It's amazing how quickly they learn!

Just wanted to say thankyou to all of you for dropping by my blog from time to time and brightening my day by leaving your lovely comments... I really appreciate you taking the time....
Have a wonderful day everyone and take care!

Grrrrrrrrr......

We've been having a terrible time trying to get Madison to sleep at night. A while ago she was doing really well going into her cot while she was still awake and putting herself to sleep, but lately she just won't! The moment I put her in the cot she starts crying, then when I leave the room she screams! We've been trying the controlled crying thing, going in every 5 mins to try and settle her but it just goes on and on.... last night took ages, about an hour and a half before I gave up and ended up nursing her to sleep (this was after midnight!). Every time she wakes through the night she can't seem to go back to sleep on her own. Needless to say I'm feeling rather sleep deprived! It's soooooo frustrating! Does any one have any ideas? I know she just wants to be picked up and cuddled to sleep - she's used to falling asleep while having her feeds - she's also quite clingy at the moment too........ so frustrating........

I've had to keep Ayden home from kindy today too - looks like his conjunctivitis has come back. Poor kid - he loves going to kindy - I had to explain why he can't go..... Paul has a real thing about me keeping him home if he's sick - makes me feel guilty that he's missing a day of fun.......

Anyway, I guess that's enough whinging from me for one day! I think I'll go and grab a cuppa..... nice to see more rain today! Hope everyone is getting a bit!

A little rain at last....

I love the sound of rain on the roof at night! It started last night and has been drizzling on and off all day - the grass was starting to look a little brown so this lot of rain comes at just the right time..... now we just need it to keep falling for a few days to fill the dams.......

It's been another BBQ weekend - this time for my youngest brother Steven - he's now 27!! (Happy Birthday again for yesterday Steve!) He's still living at home but is about to take the plunge and moves out on Thursday with his girlfriend Belinda and her cute little boy Xayn - good luck guys! Hope everything goes well and that you love your new place!

I met up with a few of the girls from Scrapboxx on Friday morning. (Thanks for the lift Leanne!) Gee it was great to finally put some faces to the names.......nice to meet you all girls!! We had coffee and a few laughs - it was lovely! Afterwards Leanne, Val and I even managed to squeeze a little scrap shopping in too - that's always fun!

I guess there's not much else to add at the moment.... I'd better go and get lunch organised... I'm getting a little peckish and no doubt Riley will be looking for something to eat shortly too...

Have a great day everyone!

Happy Birthday Mick!

It's my brother's birthday today (the eldest of the two) - Happy Birthday Mick! We all went to Mum & Dad's place for a BBQ. It's always great getting everyone together - the kids always have a ball - and Mum always puts on a great feast too! I actually got my act into gear and made a lemon meringue pie especially for the occasion (it's Mick's absolute favourite thing) but after the delicious choc mud birthday cake, it just didn't seem as yummy..... Mick appreciated it though which is the main thing.....

Thought I'd share a layout.......

(Sorry about the terrible photography - the light is bad and it looks a little crooked but you get the idea....) I did this one a couple of months ago and I was saving it for the For Keeps Comp but I've decided not to enter now...... This pic was taken the first time Madi felt the grass beneath her feet....
Well I guess it was inevitable, but now I've got a touch of all the sickness going around! Nothing too serious though, just some headaches, bit of a sore throat and cough, that's about it... Paul and the kids seem to be getting better now which is great - hopefully by the end of next week we'll all be back to normal!
Hope everyone has had a fantastic weekend! I'm off for a nice hot cuppa and some chocolate before bed....

I'm surrounded!

Everyone in our house is sick except me (soooo glad I had my flu shot!)..... Madi and Paul are already on antibiotics for their ears, we've been up all night with Riley because he's now got a sore ear, Ayden now has conjunctivitis thanks to the little boy down the road who came to play while he had it (we didn't know at the time), and they're all coughing and spluttering all around me!! I feel like I need to wear one of those surgical masks!!! So we're off to the doctor's AGAIN today for some more scripts..... when will it end?!

This fortnight's Sketches Oz sketch is by the very creative Ngaire Bartlam.... go and have a look at the gorgeous work that Ngaire and the DT have come up with! I must say I was quite daunted by this one - not by the sketch itself but by the theme.... Ngaire has been encouraging women to embrace their own beauty on her blog. I've never done a layout on myself like this before and I put off doing it as long as I could.... but in the end this is what I came up with.....

So anyway - there it is - I've done it - I'm still not quite comfortable calling myself 'beautiful' but I guess that's something I'll have to work on.......

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Sunday already...

Where has this week gone? It seems to have flown by soooo fast! I have been out and about a bit so that's probably why....

Wednesday I had the pleasure of meeting Leanne for the very first time. We met up for coffee and had a lovely chat - so nice to meet someone in person after chatting online (at Scrapboxx). (Hi Leanne!!! *waving*)

Thursday we took Madi down to PixiFoto for her 6mth photos. We should get some totally cute pics as she was in a smiley mood - can't wait to see what they look like but we've gotta wait a couple of weeks - then comes the agony of picking only a couple to bring home (you always want them all!).

On Friday Paul took the boys for a drive up to Brisbane to pick up a lathe he'd bought, so Madi and I headed off to the shops (as you do) and had a lovely carefree wander around the place. Bought a few things and headed home again.....

Yesterday Leanne picked me up and we headed over to Seriously Scrapbooks for their inaugral "Scraptacular" . It was great meeting up Christie and a few of the girls, and of course I had to do a little shopping while I was there..... I did a little scrapping last night too but won't be able to share that one just yet - hopefully later in the week...

Today Mum & Dad came down for the day. It's always great to see them and the kids just love it too! Paul was working so it was nice to have a little company. Mum has been buying some new embossing templates and dies for her Cuttlebug - she bought them with her so I had a little play with them. I used some transparency with one of the embossing templates which looked great, and she's got the cutest butterfly die - cut a few of them for Madi's pages.... Had lunch and lots of chatting and they headed home late this afternoon.

Looks like Ayden's got a sore ear again - he started complaining about it at dinner time so I guess we'll be off to see the doctor again this week! Let's hope it's not too bad this time around...

Well - this has turned into a bit of a novel! If you've made it this far I'm impressed - thanks for hanging in there! Hope everyone has had a great weekend....... I'm off to curl up on the couch with a nice hot cuppa......

More needles!

Well today was Madi's turn to have her needles - can you believe she's 6 months old today?!! Time sure does fly..... here's a photo I took of her just the other day....

She was soooo good having her needles .... didn't cry for the first one and only cried for a few seconds on the second one! Brave little chicken! The nurse was really lovely too .... that's always nice. She's going to be a tall girl apparently - she's on the high end of the graphs for height (she's 71cm) and weight (8.6kg) for her age.

I actually scrapped last night! Shocking I know.... here's what I came up with using one of my favourite photos - it's of Ayden walking along the beach with his Nanna V (Paul's Mum) down in Mallacoota last year. We don't get down there very often as it's such a long drive from here (takes a couple of days) and we haven't actually seen Paul's parents since then..... We're hoping to see them shortly......

(If it looks a little crooked it's just my brilliant photography skills...)

Paul's just gone off to see the Transformers movie (he's not working today) - we've heard nothing but great reviews about it - I'd love to see it too but it's a bit tricky with the kids since we don't have a babysitter close by..... maybe I'll go by myself another day.......

Not much else to tell today..... just kicking back waiting until I have to go and pick up Ayden from kindy this afternoon.....

Hope everyone's having a great day!
